Hi,i am from the UK but not the one you mention, but i know who you mean - Simon (BlueMagician).
I think i am a bit ahead of him but he collects all the cover variations and i only collect the UK pal games.
I do actually have a few more which missed the photo including 5 big box mega cd games and a few more smaller box ones.
I will add a list later on.Thanks for looking at my collection!.

Yeeeeees, Simon was his name, right Smile

Yes, add the other pics later.
In my opinion MCD is very very difficult to collect. So it's even more nice to see that you have so many sealed games in your collection.

Thats insane....may i ask why some of the sealed games dont have spines?

I got a little story to tell about the swedish gamemarkets in the early 90-s and foreward. My old boss worked and managed one of the first stores in sweden that sold videogames, it was called Spel & Teleshopen and was located in Linköping. When they got MegaCd games they allways saved the spines for the customer and told them to be carefull of the spine....but you all know customers...kids, teens, moms and dads...Never was a game returned with the spine. :/ He said that the customers used to throw them in the trashbin when they ripped the plastic open. Sad That makes me wanna cry today...

Hello,

This question should really go in Confirmation & Evidence, but I just thought of it after viewing this, and it seems a few people are here now, so here I go:

Does anyone know if any PAL Mega CD copy of Mortal Kombat came in any kind of seal?

I don't see it in your fine collection, though it's a little hard to tell for some.

I am 99% sure that it did not have a spine, and 90% sure that it was never factory sealed. But, as collectors who have spent much more time than me investigating this; does anyone know for sure?

Great collection, by the way! PAL Mega CD is probably the only Factory Sealed type as hard to collect as PAL Saturn!

P.S. You say you're not collecting variants… does that mean that your variant "Ecco The Dolphin" is for sale :-P (just kidding)

Hi,Thanks for the feedback.I do have a complete mega cd pal collection ,the rest being made up of unsealed games a lot of which have loose spine cards.

Some games i have sealed do not have spine cards.I have NEVER seen mortal kombat sealed and i have never seen a loose spine card.I would say 99% certain that no spine card exists.
I have sealed copies of both Time gal and Spiderman - one of which has a spine card and the other does not!
Corpse killer never had a spine card for the mega cd but the 32x version does.with Night trap it is the other way around.
None of the sony releases for the mega cd (mickey mouse, flink, sensible soccer, novastorm, beast 2 ,baseball) have spine cards.

I thought Night Trap 32x had a spine?

Edit..done some checking and I can't see that it did. I swear I've seen it spined before. I always thought that was the blot on my 32x set, no spine on NT.

You know, it's quite freaky to be Google-ing for the latest MegaCD mumbo-jumbo, and find a relatively old thread that discusses you.. lol.

Nice collection there ortervuli - hope it's still coming along nicely? I stopped actively chasing MCD stuff when I realised I was considering paying phenominal amounts for some of the rarer titles in sealed condition. Reality check - doesn't happen often - but it was welcome. Wink

Anywho, not wanting to threadjack, but I am still on the look out for sealed stuff that you can't see in my Assemlbergames thread - as I'm sure many others still are.

Finally, in answer to The Imps question - I've never seen a legitimate sealed copy of Mortal Kombat.

gg all!

Seems some games were distributed new in different places in different forms, a good example being Cobra: A Space Adventure. Tons of new copies in Germany for ages (perhaps still now) that were unsealed, but completely new with registration cards etc. but no spine. However, I have also seen at least one new and sealed copy with a spine card ...

As for Mortal Kombat, never seen one with a spine - and seen loads of new copies from some guy in Italy unsealed and with no spine. But there's always that chance that, like Space Adventure, there was a spined release somewhere. Perhaps .. maybe ..

Hello everyone,

Sorry, offtopic again, but I just wanted to say 'thank you' to everyone who took the time to answer my question about Mortal Kombat.

Good luck with your collections, everyone!
