I've finally started cataloging all of my stuff...
this has been a long time coming and it will probably take me the better part of the next 3-4 months, but I've started cataloging all of my videogame related items (systems, games, promo items, etc.)
here's a link to what I've gotten done the past two evening in excel format:
http://www.phosphors.com/stuff/item%20catalog.xls
if anyone has any comments/suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
ps
my copy of final fantasy vii is the black labeled version, however it's not y-folded. it was sent as a review copy when I used to author strategy guides for prima and write game articles for a local newspaper.

looks awesome! Why you don't have any sony sealed collection thread
?!
Re: I've finally started cataloging all of my stuff...
I've added another 3 boxes worth of games this evening (see first post for a new link). n64 stuff is a lot easier to catalogue since they take up more space. let's see now, that's 5 boxes down and about 100 to go (seriously!)
Re: I've finally started cataloging all of my stuff...
I've added another 2 boxes worth of games/systems to the spreadsheet this evening which includes a portion of my japanese gameboy color/advance collection and my neogeo pocket color items.
tomorrow night I'll start on the 4 remaining boxes from the basement containing ps2 and dreamcast items then I can start tackling the items in the spare bedrooms in the pictures seen below (and yes, all of those boxes are completely filled with games).

note the "spanish" mario bros. plushie sound ? block on the top of the stack of boxes

Re: I've finally started cataloging all of my stuff...
I'll try and create a nice album worth of pics this week and link to them. the problem is having been involved with the industry (in some form or another) for so long, I've accrued quite the amount of "stuff"
however, due to the nature of this forum, I'll try and capture images of the more interesting items (all my miyamoto autographed games [20+ or so now], some cool E3 promo items, limited edition and rare stuff, etc...

Re: I've finally started cataloging all of my stuff...
still trying to find out which photobook software that we were using when we posted all my E3 pics, so here are a few to tie everyone over for a bit. I present a good portion of my "miyamoto" collection.
complete famicom mini collection (including the club nintendo exclusive binders) - all brand-new and the boxes are still sealed

super mario bros, donkey kong and the zelda no densetsu signed by himself!

mario bros. 2 and link no boken autographed
famicom disc system games

mario stamp collections (I've got 4 of these)

wind waker with bonus disc autographed (I have 3 sets of these autographed, here's one of them)

finally, not really game related, but special considering it happened on my birthday. autographed set list by garbage from their 2005 E3 appearance at the microsoft party

Re: I've finally started cataloging all of my stuff...
I don't know whether you want to talk about this or not, but it would be very interessting if you could tell us a little bit about your work. Your Collection is so impressive and a real treasury...
Never saw the signature of the man himself; looks kinda cool with the eyes-thing at the end.

Re: I've finally started cataloging all of my stuff...
How were you able get so many of Myamoto's signature? That is so impressive.
BTW can someone tell me what are catalogue's number and UPC code?
Also, I can't open that link which has the format of cataloging games. Many thanks!

I [used to] know quite a number of people at both nintendo of america as well as their public relations firm, golin-harris. they were the ones kind enough to get whatever I brought with me to E3 every year, autographed for me. I was also able to do a "one on one" with miyamoto-san one year, which was a lot of fun. (I'm also the only one I know who had the guts (or audacity, depending how you look at it) to parade around their offices [and in front of howard lincoln] in a detroit red wings hockey jersey one year, while authoring one of the zelda guides
catalogue number is the part no. that the company refers to its goods by (usually found on the spine of the product). upc codes are the bar codes found on the back underneath the block of vertical lines (these are what are scanned at stores to perform the look-up within a store's computer system.
my listing is in the form of a microsoft excel spreadsheet. I'll change it this weekend to something a bit more generic so that everyone can open it.
