sealed PC games
Hi all,
I'm not sure where this topic belongs so please move it if necessary.
I'm not sure how many board members here collect PC games. I personally don't unless it's a pretty great game not available anywhere else or if it could potentially be a superior port over it's console member such as Prey or Bioshock.
One game I have always loved, due to it's size and innovation is Phantasmagoria. It's penned by the writer of kings Quest and is quite creepy, to say nothing of 7 disks long. Besides a quick romp of the Saturn in Japan, it has yet to be ported.
Come to find out, they released some form of collector's edition in Europe in the med nineties, the Netherlands I believe. I know many members here are from Europe and I was wondering if you had ever come across this version in your travels. I'll try and attach a pic.

Any help would be wonderful, but it's pretty obscure so no worries no matter what. Thanks for your time and peace!

Re: sealed PC games
I have Phatasmagoria (PC).
I have the large boxed Phatasmagoria: Pray it's Only a Nightmare and I also have the small double boxed Phatasmagoria: Pray it's Only a Nightmare and A Puzzle of The Flesh - neither are sealed (being so old n' all) but they're both in mint condition. I also have both strategy guides.
I bought these before I collected for PlayStation, when I was collecting PC RPGs and Point and Click horrors.

Re: sealed PC games
ok here's some neat rare sealed stuff for you.
Bothtec's Relics Anthology. Uber rare metroid-like japanese clone sealed with a nice figure.

L'ethian in the Abyss. Very cool game. Sealed as well.

Karma - Immortal Wrath . the oldest and rarest game from Starfish. Actually it's their only rpg game apart from Wizardry spinoffs they make. Very oldskul. :P
Does it look familiar? lol

Re: sealed PC games
Ah, sealed computer games. Lovely. Do you know how many Relics Anthology were printed? I see four digits: is it more like 1.000 or near 10.000?
:?:
Some of my sealed games (only picture I could find):

Wow nice! Especially the Diablo lever master. Last time i saw it like... 10 years ago!
What's inside?
As for Relics Anthology the number on the box indicates... well... i don't know what the hell it indicates? lol. I guess it's some design. Or maybe it's corresponding to the "origin" of the game series itself. Because this antholgy has all relics games from the first one.
Re: sealed PC games
I have no idea what's inside. I should actually read what's written on the boxes I buy...
Oh, I thought the "No.0001" indicated the number of printed copies, which would mean you have the first printed copy - but I guess I was wrong!
I also have a sealed copy of Blood: Plasma Pak, which I tried selling for 100EUR. I had people rushing and asking me to buy it, but at a lower price. That was funny. And I've seen a picture of a guy with dozens of sealed Plasma Pak, I think it was in Germany.

Re: sealed PC games
I don't recall buying PC games in NZ sealed in plastic. If I remember correctly (it's been a while and I no longer collect PC games) they had only a smallish sticky plastic circle across the top of the box to tell that it was, in fact, brand new.
As a matter of interest, where were these plastic sealed PC games purchased?

In japan most games were sealed in plastic. In US oldest ones were also sealed and newest had a sticker sealing on top. However things differ. For example original Baldur's Gate had a sticker and the addon - sealed in plastic like pictured above.
