Re: Japanese Game Posters (Alphabetically A-L)
Thanks.
Yeah i will do. I usually buy about 5 posters a week, and I've got a really nice Katamari Damacy poster currently being shipped.
I just tried to frame the Shenmue poster just now, and broke the glass
Great site by the way. It's definitly got me tempted to collect sealed games again, now I've got like minded people to discuss with, instead of rude people who can't comprehend sealed collectors!

Re: Japanese Game Posters (Alphabetically A-L)
I think your poster collections and used game collections deserve a own area... so I moved them!
I was time that all collectors also can post their used game collections!
And you are right! I also only found places with rude people ... so i started this board for us

Thanks Pascal! Another great idea! Obviously it would be second-rate compared to some of our sealed collection threads we have here on the site, but it's always great to view th erest of people's collections!
Here's an idea: Perhaps you could make it a Usergroup for people to subscribe to if they want to, rather than make it available publicly. This way, it kind of keeps it separate from the rest of the site, and out of sight

I think thats a bad idea. I don't know why it needs to be out of sight. You may as well not make Off Topic and Buying and Selling (unsealed) publically available aswell, since they are not for sealed games. The more forums the site has, the better. It'll always be dedicated to sealed games primarily no matter what.
Anyway, my Katamari Damacy poster arrived today....

Really amazing collection, I have a few questions
How do you store them all so they do not get any damage?
How much do you pay on avarage?
Which is your favourite and why?

Thanks.
They are currently stored each in a tube for the time being, but I'm currently after a display rack and folders, like the image below....

I only buy brand new posters, and if I receive any posters even slightly damaged, then I don't add them to my collection, as I'm very particular about condition.
Some posters I received damaged were Zelda Minish Cap and Taiko DS.
I have a rule where i only pay as much as £15 delivered per poster, with the average poster costing £5 delivered. Some sellers charge way too much for posters that I want like Zelda Twilight Princess for £125 on Ebay!.
I have about 10 favorite posters that are getting framed. Three of them are Zelda Ocarina Of Time, as I've seen it sell for £135, yet I got it for £15. Densha de Go! Final & Katamari Damacy are two other favorites, as I've been after them for three years.
I only started purchasing them back in late June 2007, so this is just the start of the collection. I hope to have over 500 by this time next year, and then I'll create a website and possibly a poster store by then.

Re: Japanese Game Posters (Alphabetically A-L)
amazing, more questions..
are there alot of collectors in this field?
what size are all these, they look like they would be A1?
I could well imagine these being worth a small fortune (or a big fortune even) in about 10 - 20 years. I wish i could find some original offical Master System posters, japanese or otherwise. Have you ever seen anything along those lines?

Re: Japanese Game Posters (Alphabetically A-L)
I've never come across any other poster collectors. It would be great to finds others. It's more collectors of particular games who buy them, which is why i buy rpg posters, even though i have no interest in the genre. I tend to collect posters which have nice artwork, possible collectability, and mainly my favorite games.
I would guess only a few thousand of these posters were released, due to being for store displays in Japanese shops. The Zelda games on the otherhand were available on Nintendo Japan's Club Nintendo website
The size of the posters are 21 1/4" X 28" in size. They are referred to as B2, which is the general poster size in Japan.
There are fake posters on Ebay, but are easily noticeable. Street Fighter III 3rd Strike is one example on Ebay right now. It's much bigger in size, and from a Taiwanese seller.
I've only seen Japanese SEGA posters from the Dreamcast. I don't think B2 game posters were released until the late 90's. There will be flyers available though.

I think thats a great collection type ...
maybe we found some other members with some poster collection too .
If we have more than five I will create for this sort of collection an extra posting area
